The Guardtech Group are on a mission to ensure their clients get the best holistic ‘total cleanroom package’ possible at the moment.
The Haverhill-based contamination control experts recently launched a new campaign celebrating their role as ‘facilitators of greatness’, championing turnkey construction business Cleanroom Solutions as providers of ‘platforms for excellence’.
But whilst some of the UK’s brightest minds are utilising Cleanroom Solutions facilities to conduct groundbreaking work in Life Sciences and beyond, two significant factors in delivering those platforms could be getting ignored.
“Regular decontamination of your controlled environment is critical,” says Sarah Mayes, the Guardtech Group’s Decon Programme Manager. “There will be plenty of businesses out there who, when pushed I’m sure, will admit that they perhaps only do the bare minimum when it comes to regular deep cleans.
“It’s of course understandable – everyone is busy, deadlines are tight and it becomes something of an afterthought behind process and yield.
“But the controlled environment effectiveness and efficiency benefits of a consistent, high-quality decontamination programme mustn’t be underestimated.
“If this sounds like something your application could do with some support on, please do get in touch and we’ll book in a site survey immediately to see how we can help.”
Mayes and Decon Manager Lee Burton, the two most senior members of the team, boast more than 30 years’ experience in cleanroom decontamination, offering tailored bespoke cleaning programmes to suit the needs of all applications, following client SOPs and using specific validated chemicals and equipment as and when required.
From Builders’, Pre-Validation and Biocidal/Sporicidal cleans through to Hydrogen Peroxide Fogging and Microbiological/bioburden testing with TSA & SDA plates, the Guardtech Group Decon Team cover most bases an application would need.
Working to GMP standards, the team conduct cleanliness verification tests with full reporting and are certified to work at height (as IPAF PAL card holders).
“There isn’t an application in a key industry that we haven’t dealt with,” adds Burton, “and it’s that knowhow and experience that sets us apart. We’re urging new customers to book in a site visit, and we’ll take you through what we believe your business needs to achieve its full potential.”
But the key to a successful controlled environment doesn’t end with decontamination – what’s inside those process suites matters just as much.
“The difference between a facility with high-quality cleanroom furniture & equipment and one with tired, old gear is so vast,” Burton continues. “We’ve obviously decontaminated a LOT of different rooms over the years and there’s a chasm between businesses that have the appropriate fit-outs and those that don’t – be that quality stainless steel or Trespa furniture, or newer wet benches and laminar flow units instead of equipment from a bygone age!”
The Guardtech Group provide a wide selection of elite cleanroom furniture & equipment solutions via their Guardware Cleanroom Hardware brand.
The stainless-steel range includes everything a controlled environment might need, from stepover benches, work benches and lockers to bins, sinks, shelving and trolleys.
Guardware’s equipment range is equally impressive, boasting industry-leading biosafety cabinets, fume hoods, autoclaves and viable air monitoring solutions alongside measuring instruments, transfer hatches, laminar flow units and antimicrobial cleanroom mats.
“When we’re working on a Guardtech Group construction project’s post-build cleaning regime, and the cleanroom has been fitted out with Guardware gear, the set-up really stands out,” adds Mayes. “The quality is fantastic, and it really does elevate the environment to another level.”
