Highest-volume product is based on HEPA equipment

UV Flu Technologies, the US manufacturer of the ViraTech UV-400 equipment to kill airborne bacteria, has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire a manufacturer of air purification equipment.

The purchase includes a patented product line and all associated manufacturing equipment.

According to UV Flu Technologies, the company has installed ‘several thousand units in more than 1,000 facilities across the US’.

The name of the company will not be revealed until the deal has been finalised.

“The company we are acquiring makes some of the finest, high-end, air purification equipment available anywhere,” said Jack Lennon, president of UV Flu Technologies.

The highest-volume product is based on HEPA equipment, which also combines UV germicidal technology to capture 99.97% of the particulates passing through the system.

Lennon said the product complements UV Flu Technologies’ existing technology by dramatically increasing filtration protection throughout much larger spaces, particularly in areas where smoke and dust play a major role.

More than 400 hospitals in the US are currently using the equipment to clean air of harmful pathogens.

“This high grade HEPA based technology is best suited to industrial/commercial environments, which incorporate designated maintenance schedules and generally includes service contracts,” said Lennon.

The acquisition will be operated as a subsidiary of UV Flu Technologies and provide a US manufacturing base to support the company’s pursuit of government contracts.

“We hope this added market segment will also lead to additional jobs and overall growth for the company,” said Lennon.
