US-based Total Facility Solutions expands through asset purchase

Purchasing assets of Hellwig Plumbing & Heating enables M+W Group subsidiary to broaden West Coast base and penetrate life science market


Total Facility Solutions (TFS), a division of the M+W Group, has acquired all assets and certain liabilities of Ray L. Hellwig Plumbing & Heating, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, USA.

The agreement states that TFS will take possession of the office space and all equipment housed there, employ existing staff, and assume contracts with current customers.

The purchase is part of TFS’ target to expand into all industrial areas in the US. With this new branch location, TFS underlines its 'local commitment and global experience' strategy targeting life sciences and advanced technology customers.

Hellwig delivers a wide range of piping experience in the commercial, institutional and industrial business, providing turnkey service to general contractors and owners, including complete mechanical and plumbing systems. Its team of over 60 is experienced with a wide range of materials and specialty installations.

TFS has continued to experience rapid growth over the past several years, reaching more than US$250m in annual revenue for 2015, while building a robust team of over 750 employees.

The Hellwig acquisition is a key component of its overall mission to expand service offerings to new markets and regions across the US and abroad.

Hellwig has a wide range of piping experience in the commercial, institutional and industrial business. The company’s services include the design and installation of complete plumbing systems, HVAC hydronic piping, and medical gas installations.

Total Facility Solutions, Inc. (TFS), headquartered in Plano, Texas, provides turnkey facilities contracting services including clean utilities and electrical services to the semiconductor, electronics, nanotechnology, photovoltaic, life sciences, mission critical, and renewable energy industries. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of M+W Group.
