The infection prevention company has announced plans to expand its ethylene oxide sterilisation offering

STERIS has announced plans to construct a new EO processing facility in the Batu Kawan Industrial Park in Penang, Malaysia as part of its long-term commitment to supporting medical device manufacturing.

EO is the company's ethylene oxide sterilisation service and the expansion of these services in Malaysia furthers the company's commitment to ensuring patient safety through a technology-neutral service offering that includes radiation and gas processing options, now and well into the future.

In addition to the new EO facility in Batu Kawan, STERIS supports medical device manufacturing in Malaysia through its existing ethylene oxide, electron beam, gamma, and microbiological testing services in Kuala Ketil, Kulim, Port Klang, and Rawang.

Increased demand in medical device manufacturing has accelerated the company's plans for global expansion.

"The continued expansion of processing options throughout our global network allows us to support customers with both routine services and processing redundancy," the company stated.
