Mach-Aire (Shanghai) Clean Air Technology will be introducing a range of containment products

Mach-Aire, a UK designer and manufacturer of dust and fume extraction systems, pharmacy aseptic cleanrooms, isolators and powder containment systems, is now operating a joint venture in China with its trading partner Shanghai Tech Labway in Shanghai.

The company says the joint venture, Mach-Aire (Shanghai) Clean Air Technology, has been operating since March, with Darren Hughes relocating from the company’s UK facility in Horwich, Bolton to take up the position of general manager. Carol Chuk, who joins the joint venture from Shanghai Tech Lab, will work alongside Hughes and handle marketing.

Mach-Aire says this move will enable the company to raise its profile within one of its prime target markets of South East Asia.

Mach-Aire has been working with Shanghai Tech Lab for the last three years designing and supplying locally made fume cupboards to pharmaceutical companies, water testing centres, police stations and other industrial laboratories. The company now feels that the time is right to expand the product portfolio.

The joint venture will therefore be introducing Mach-Aire's containment products, including isolators, downflow booths and laminar flow systems into the Chinese market, giving customers the benefit of experienced design technology with local manufacture.
