US-based CDMO has purchased a Bausch+Ströbel fully integrated high-speed filling line with SKAN isolator

Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing (GRAM), a specialist parenteral contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has announced its second major equipment purchase this year: a Bausch+Ströbel fully integrated high-speed filling line with SKAN isolator that will more than triple the company's manufacturing capacity.

The Bausch+Ströbel filler can fill 200 vials per minute, maximising flexibility in manufacturing solutions, increasing process efficiency and ensuring the highest level of sterility.

The unit includes a vial washer, depyrogenation tunnel and filling machine and will fill vials ranging from 2-50 ml with 100% weight checks.

“Simultaneously, we are reinvesting in the development of our clinical scale manufacturing. The combination of specialised clinical and commercial production with our analytical and development services offers a powerful solution to better meet the evolving needs of our clients,” said Nick Bykerk, GRAM’s VP of business development and finance.

In addition, the company is scheduling new projects, starting in summer 2019.
