Eurofins Scientific acquires the food and pharma testing services of ILS
Latest acquisition reinforces Eurofins' commitment to the food and pharmaceutical testing services industry in the UK and Ireland
Eurofins Scientific has acquired ILS, one of the largest independent suppliers of contract laboratory services in the UK. ILS offers a comprehensive range of chemistry and microbiological testing to the pharmaceutical, food, environmental and consumer product industries. The purchase follows Eurofins' acquisition of Exova's food, pharmaceutical and water testing laboratories in July.
Eurofins Scientific is a leader in food, environment and pharmaceutical products testing, as well as agroscience, genomics, discovery pharmacology and central laboratory services. In addition, the company is one of the key emerging players in speciality clinical diagnostic testing in Europe and the US.
A transition process is now underway to bring the ILS team into the Eurofins family. During this transitional period, any work currently in progress or any new work undertaken will continue to be performed by the existing ILS teams. It is not expected that there will be any disruption to services during this period.
