Natural Esense is approved for surgical use

Ebiox, a UK developer of advanced decontamination technologies, has introduced its first hand hygiene product based on sustainable natural ingredients.

Natural Esense is extracted from the pith of seville oranges (citrus aurantium) and is a proprietary formula under the bioflavonoid complex classification.

Tested to EN1276, EN1500, EN12054 and EN13704, Natural Esense also recently completed testing required for EN12791, a European regulatory standard for surgical hand disinfection rubs.

Warrington-based Ebiox says Natural Esense provides bacterial, virucidal, fungicidal and sporicidal protection and has a low toxic effect on the hands, even with persistent use.

“The use of synthetically produced chemicals has been a mainstay of our industry for decades, and it has worked. Being able to achieve similar positive results with a natural complex is an exciting development,” said Ebiox commercial director Jeff Smith.

Natural Esense is available as a liquid in 50ml flip top bottles and for use in a wall dispenser that holds 800ml disposable pouches.

The firm says additional formats will be created to accommodate customer requests.
