Chemineer launches new mixer to market

Chemineer, a mixing solutions manufacturer, is offering customers for whom hygiene is critical, a stainless steel motor-based agitator unit.

This portable unit, which features a clamping arrangement, is supplied by Lafert – the ‘Marlin’ stainless motors, which have an 0.5RA (mirror) finish, are being employed initially for a bio-pharmaceutical application.

The unit’s clamping arrangement means it can be mounted on the side of open mixing vessels. It has an 850mm shaft with maximum run out of just 0.05mm, effected by using a special shaft mounting with internal bearings and a heating process that ensures precise linearity of the shaft.

Lafert’s Marlin motor has a smooth body and round terminal box that ensures there is no place for dirt or product to become trapped and present potential product contamination problems whilst its IP66 rating means in can be safely hosed down, even when using cleaning chemicals. Also, being stainless steel any risk associated with rust and flaking paint is eliminated.

“The proof of success for any product is repeat orders and one of our customers has just placed a second order for this new complete stainless steel solution”, said Charlie Dolman, application engineer of Chemineer. “We believe the addition of a total stainless steel agitator/mixer provides us with yet another option to help us resolve the needs of our customers.”
