Biosenta launches disinfectant called True

Published: 14-Jan-2015

Kills a range of bacteria, viruses and fungi within ten minutes of contact

Biosenta, a Canadian manufacturer of chemical compounds for industrial and household applications using nanotechnology, has introduced True, a disinfectant and cleaner which kills bacteria, viruses and fungi/mould.

True, first announced in November 2014, is a powerful disinfectant containing low levels of active ingredients, which make it less toxic and more safe to use.

Laboratory testing of True has shown that it kills 100% of a range of microbes, including E.coli, MRSA and Staphylococcus aureus, within a 10-minute contact time. It will also kill Ebola and Enterovirus D68.

Two laboratory tests will be completed in early 2015, for C. Difficile and the tuberculosis virus.

Regulatory approvals to sell True in the US and Canada are underway. The submission in the US has been ongoing for several months and EPA approvals are expected to be obtained in mid-2015, while the approval process in Canada began in December 2014 and approvals from Health Canada are expected in late-2015.
