Atlas Clean Air sells Mach-Aire IP assets to Kottermann Limited

Published: 1-Oct-2015

Transaction relates only to the manufacture of fume cupboards

Preston-based Atlas Clean Air and related company, Mach-Aire Services, have disposed of certain assets and intellectual property rights (IP), relating to the manufacture of fume cupboards and associated ventilation systems, to Kottermann Limited, based in Bourne End, Berkshire, UK, part of Kottermann GmbH.

The sale follows Atlas Clean Air's purchase of the Mach-Aire business from administrators Tom MacLennan and Ben Woolrych of FRP Advisory at the end of February.

As part of the new deal, Atlas will retain the manufacture of specialist containment equipment, including pharmaceutical isolators, plus the service and maintenance business of Mach-Aire.

Atlas Director, Paul Riley, says: 'The transaction with Kottermann is mutually beneficial in that Kottermann is an internationally renowned manufacturer of fume cupboards and laboratory systems, while Atlas specialises in the retained elements of cleanrooms, isolators and maintenance services.

'Although actively progressed since earlier this year, the fume cupboard manufacturing activity was non-core for Atlas and Kottermann is better placed to continue the development of a high quality fume cupboard product, under the Mach- Aire brand, across Europe.'

Atlas will continue to focus on specialist cleanroom contracting, manufacture of high grade containment equipment and associated maintenance services.
