These four tutorials will precede the three days of technical sessions at the Space Simulation Conference. Session one, entitled Grounding Practices in Vibration Testing Laboratories, will educate engineers and technicians about proper grounding practices in the vibration analysis and testing laboratory. Session two, entitled Thermal Vacuum Instrumentation, will provide insight into how vacuum instruments work by looking at the theory behind their operation and their inherent strengths and weaknesses. Session three, Cleanroom Materials Selection and Chemical Analysis Techniques, will review how materials utilised in a cleanroom play an important role for the overall assessment of molecular and particulate contamination. The last tutorial session, Helium Refrigeration Systems, is intended as both an introduction for new users, as well as an update for veteran test engineers or technicians. The tutorial covers the essentials associated with the design, operation, and maintenance of a helium refrigeration system in support of space simulation chamber tests.
